The Struggle to Get a Best Fit
In 2018, Ole Solskjaer Gunnar took over as the manager in charge. His poor performance as the manager in charge made the club show him the way out and terminated his services in 2021.
The quest for a better manager prompted the interim appointment of Ralf Ragnick for one year (2021-2022), but the situation was not showing any breakthrough.
Then finally in 2022, it was Erik Ten Hag who became in charge. His style of play was just not good enough as his strict rules made him develop issues with some players on the team. This philosophy affected Manchester United so badly to the extent of having a high rate of underperformance that cost them many key games both in the local league and in UEFA competitions throughout his stay in Old Trafford.
The bold step of firing Erik Ten Hag after much patience with the Dutchman is turning out to be the best decision ever made by Manchester United’s management. Remember that the football club has been looking for the right tactician who would fit in the shoes of following the trend of keeping the standard and pattern of play in Old Trafford.
Thanks to the final decision taken to fire him!
Since Ruud Van Nistelrooy had already been a member of the coaching team, he was appointed as interim manager after Ten Hag’s departure, and the story had just gone from pathetic to laudable. The team has been doing well and they have 3 wins and just a draw.
Manchester United Vs Leicester City: The victory at Old Trafford yesterday was exceptional. The two teams are meeting for the second time after Nistelrooy took the interim position. First, it was a thrilling 5-2 victory for the Red Devils on October 30th, 2024, in the Carabao Cup, and now a 3-0 victory in the English Premier League.
Brilliant performances and great teamwork were all Manchester United needed to get the convincing win against Leicester City. The Captain of the team Bruno Fernandes got the first goal in the 17th minute of the game after receiving an assist from Amad Diallo who was too energetic on the right flank of the Foxes half. An outstanding right-foot strike from outside the box beat Leicester City’s goalie. The second was an own goal scored by Victor Kristiansen to help United have a double lead at halftime.

Alejandro Garnacho came off the bench to make it 3-0 for the Red Devils. His outside-the-box right-foot shot was just enough to beat the Foxes keeper again, to see the team soar high.
The game had United in full control as the ability to possess the ball was measured to be 51%, the goal attempt was 13, 5 goalkeeper saves, 491 total passes, 418 completed passes, and four completed crosses. On the other hand, the Foxes had 49% of the ball possession, 6 goal attempts, 0 goalkeeper saves, 466 total passes, 388 completed passes, and 3 completed crosses.
The Incoming Manager: Newly appointed coach, Ruben Amorim will be taking over his position in full after the 2 weeks international break. His resounding and applaudable impact with Sporting CP, streamlined the path for him to take over the task.
