The May/June 2024 WAEC result was released on Monday, August 12, 2024. All candidates who participated in the exam can now check their results.
As a WAEC candidate, you don’t have to pay someone or spend money going to any CBT center or cyber cafe to check your results. As long as you have a mobile phone, you can easily check your result yourself, right from the comfort of your home.
Using your mobile device, you can either check your WAEC result online or via SMS. Whatever method you decide to use, read through the following instructions carefully to avoid making any mistakes while checking your results.
Things You Need to Check Your WAEC Result
Everything you need to check your WAEC result is on your WAEC ID card. These include your examination number, serial number, PIN, and examination year. You can easily find them on this ID card and use them to check your WAEC result:
Your examination number is located right below your “Sex” and contains 10 digits—your 7-digit center number and your 3-digit candidate number.
- Your Serial Number is located below your passport photograph.Your PIN is located right under your serial number.
Your Examination Year is the year you took the exam, which, in this case, is 2024.
Your Examination Type indicates whether you are a private candidate or a school candidate. The private candidate result is for other external exams conducted by WAEC.
So, if you are checking for the May/June 2024 WAEC result, then your exam type is “School Candidate Results.”
Checking Your WAEC Result Online
To check your WAEC result through the WAEC website, simply open your web browser.
In the search box, type “www.waecdirect.org” and press enter.
Once the site loads, you’ll be directed to the WAEC result portal. There, you’ll find a section to enter your required details.
Fill in your details, which include your:
- Examination Number
Examination Year
Examination Type (i.e., Type of Examination)
PIN
Serial Number
Then click on the blue “Submit” button. After clicking, wait for the page to load. Once loaded, you will see your WAEC results.
When your WAEC results appear, remember to download them to your phone before leaving the results page.
Checking Your WAEC Result Through SMS
Open your message app and type the following into the message box: WAEC*Examination Number*PIN*Examination Year.
It should look something like this: WAEC*1234567890*098765432132*2024
Send this as a text message to the shortcode 32327.
You can use MTN, Airtel, or Glo for this, and you will be charged 30 Naira for this service, no matter which network you use.
Once you send the message, you will receive a response from WAEC containing your WAEC result.
You can then go to the cyber cafe to print out your WAEC result.
When checking your WAEC results, make sure you carefully enter your serial number and PIN, as you are only allowed to use them five times. After the fifth time, the serial number and PIN become invalid, and you will have no choice but to purchase a scratch card.
