A POEM ON RAPE

Rape

Glaring into the mirror, the tears flowed down
Tears of pain
Tears of sorrow
Tears of regret
Why did it have to be me?
I looked with feared eyes, sweaty forehead and
With a heavy heart looking for hope
I screamed with a dead soul and torn clothes
Fighting in pain for my life
Did you know how it hurt when you took my treasure without my consent
I carry myself in a box
And when I am shaken all you hear are sounds of broken bones and blood flowing like an ocean
I bathe with water of regret, shame, disgust
Here my pen scrapping my diary
Bleeding on these pages
The devastating memories appearing again
I want a world where casteism and racial discrimination does not exist
I want a world where there is no news of rape, murder, kidnapping, domestic violence, and other disheartening news.
I want to be free again
I want to leave as nothing happened
It hurts and still hurts more
I want to forget about everything but it is hard
My dreams are a replay to the incident
But I have to move on
But I will always hide my face in shame
Because of you.

LET’S LIVE A BETTER LIFE
AND CREATE A BETTER WORLD TO LIVE IN

SAY NO TO RAPE
AND REPORT EVERY CASE YOU KNOW ABOUT
