Electrifying Reds Overpowers Southampton

Joy were boundless for the Anfielders as they overpowered Southampton football club at the saint Mary’s Stadium, Hampshire, on Sunday 24th November, 2024.

In the tight encounter, the Reds had their first goal registered after a careless play from Southampton, allowed Dominik Szoboszlai had them punished in the 30th minute.

After the opening goal, Southampton also got a retaliation just before the halftime break. Tyler Sibling drew a foul in the penalty area in the 40th minute, but the initial spot kick was saved. Adam Armstrong’s quick reaction to the situation made sure the ball went in, as his left footed shot from the center of the box made the scoreline 1-1 at halftime.

In the second half, goal scorer Adam Armstrong assisted Mateus Fernandes, who fired a left-footed shot right from the center of the box to the bottom left corner to have them stay ahead in the scoreline.


Man of the Match, Mo Salah helped Liverpool get a comeback after making the scoreline 2-2 in the 65th minute. Southampton became less effective and decided to weakingly settled for a defending strategy that never helped them. More pains were added to the Saints as Salah got the second from a penalty spot kick after so much pressure on them.

This triumph now have Liverpool taking full advantage of the ugly performances of title contenders, Manchester City, who had lost 4 goals to nothing to Tottenham Hotspurs. They are now eight points clear on the Premier League table, with 31 point. Other updated positions are Chelsea 22 points in 3rd position, Arsenal 4th position with same points as Chelsea but with Goal deficits. Brighton after winning their last match, now sits 4th on the EPL table with 22 points and with goal difference behind the Blues and the Gunners.

Mohammed Salah’s Moments of Ecstasy

After having a boring and silent moment in the English Premier League with the Blues, Salah suffered a career threatening moment at Stamford Bridge in the 2015/2016 Season. His move to Anfield in 2017 became the turning point for the Egyptian. The 3 times African footballer of the year (2017, 2018, and 2021), put out an astonishing performance against Southampton after scoring a brace. His left footed shot did the magic in converting a penalty kick to the top left corner of the goal post.

Salah became ecstatic and had the stadium thrown into sparks of celebration as he took off his jersey to jubilate.
Since joining the Reds, Mohammed Salah is now had 165 EPL appearances with 165 EPL goals since joining Liverpool Football club.
What an achievement that is!

After facing Spanish Laliga Champions on Wednesday in the UEFA Champions League, Liverpool will face the Citizens (Manchester City) on Sunday 1st December, 2024, on home ground Anfield.

On 4th December, which is two days after meeting the Citizens, they will battle, Newcastle and on Saturday December 7th, they’ll face Everton also, on away tests, to see if they can keep the title race chase kindled.
