Tems has Ayra Starr on stage for a surprise performance.


Grammy-winning Nigerian vocalist Temilade Openiyi, famously known as Tems, brought her partner, Ayra Starr, in front of an audience for an unexpected presentation.

During Tem’s ongoing tour, the two superstars performed together in New York.

Ayra Starr is also the first female artist from Nigeria to be nominated for Best African Song Performance at the 66th Grammy Awards for her hit single “Rush.”

With the release of new projects in 2024, both celebrities have continued their global rise. Tems released her much-anticipated debut album, “Born In The Wild,” while Ayra Starr released her highly acclaimed sophomore album, “The Year I Turned 21,” which featured appearances by Giveon, Coco Jones, Aniita, Seyi Vibez, and Asake.

The pair performed together in a moment that demonstrated their friendship and mutual support for one another, and the audience applauded them as they did so in a video that became a social media trend.

Even though Tems and Ayra Starr haven’t worked together yet, many fans, including Rihanna, are looking forward to the song. The 9X Grammy winner has said that she’s ready to join the Nigerian stars on the track.

When Tems won the Best Melodic Rap Performance award at the 65th Grammy Awards for her contributions to Future’s “Wait For U,” she became the first Nigerian female artist to do so.
