Injury Blows
Dominic Solanke: English professional footballer Solanke is currently having injury concerns in his newly signed club Tottenham Hotspur. The 26-year-old player picked up an ankle injury during a match against Leicester City. He will be out for just a short period and may not be in action this weekend for the English Premier League fixture against Everton.
Solanke’s an incredible player who was born in Reading England and started his football career by joining Chelsea at a tender age. He had a fantastic performance in Chelsea during a UEFA Champions League match in October 2014 but due to irregular playing time, he was loaned to a Dutch club ” Vitesse Armhen” and played in the 2015/2016 season with the club. In 2017, he moved to Liverpool football club on a free transfer but still struggled with irregular playing time which later saw his transfer to AFC Bournemouth in 2019. In Bournemouth, he had a tremendous stay, with a great finishing skill that saw him score 53 goals in 166 appearances at the end of the 2023/2024 season. Presently, a 65 million Euro fee transfer fee saw him moved to Tottenham Hotspur and he is hoping to return to action after the injury concern.
Oscar Bobb: Pep Guadiola’s wonder kid, Bobb Oscar is currently battling with an injury without even having a start in the current 2024/2025 EPL season. The potential game-changer who is known for his ability to dribble opponents, is battling with a bone fracture that was sustained during a pre-season training session. The Norwegian international caught the attention of City’s coach when playing for the youth team, he was allowed to play in the senior team and he has since then been incredible and has performed beyond expectation. The sour injury news will see him out of action for many months.
Hojlund: Danish professional footballer, Rasmus Højlund is currently with Manchester United and is currently struggling with a hamstring injury and will likely be out for a period of 6 weeks. Although he has not been linked with too many career moves, he played for Danish club FC Copenhagen and Hujlund after a 72 million Euro transfer to Manchester United from Atalanta in August 2023, has been having a good time for the club as he has been a key player in the club with his goal-scoring abilities and assists.
This injury could see him miss a couple of 10 consecutive Premier actions.
Yoro: A new signing from French club Lille, Leny Yoro is currently neck deep into injury with a foot injury and he is also undergoing a series of surgeries due to the blow. The center-back skipper is known for his ability to tackle and win duels with opponents. He joined the Red Devils for a 30 million Euro fee this season from OSC Lille and hopes to recover from a six weeks injury to be fully injected into the season.
Both players will be missing in key matches for Manchester United.

Gundogan’ Return: İlkay Gündoğan has made a return to the current English champions Manchester City and will be fully available for Pep Guadiola’s side for the 2024/2025 season. The German international was born in Gelsenkirchen, Germany, and began his professional career with FC Nürnberg but later moved to Borussia Dortmund in 2011 where he had a significant performance that made him transfer to Manchester City in 2016. Gündoğan won notable titles like 5 English Premier League titles, 2 FA Cups, 4 Carabao Cups, 2 Community Shields, and 1 UEFA Champions League, scoring 60 goals with 304 appearances for City before joining FC Barcelona of Spain where he played 51 games for Barça.
Ayew: The Ghanaian international footballer Jordan Ayew began his professional football in Olympique de Marseille in France, and served loan terms for Sochaux and Lorient but later switched to England to continue his Football career. In 2015, he was transferred to Aston Villa where he was the club’s top scorer in the 2015/2016 season, and Swansea in 2017. Another significant move for Ayew was his transfer to Crystal Palace in 2018. Ayew is currently transferred to Leicester City on a 2-year deal.
Joao Felix: Chelsea FC has recently re-signed Joao Felix a player they once had in Stamford Bridge for a new deal of 46.3 million Euros. This move happened hours after Conor Gallagher’s 36 million Euro deal with Atletico Madrid. This was the mutual agreement between both clubs as they earlier discussed for the 2 players’ exchange.
Match Ban and Fine
Nigerian international footballer Victor Boniface Jr. is currently serving a one-match ban and a fine of 25,000 Euros. The disciplinary decision was taken after Victor was found guilty of displaying a foul gesture by showing his middle finger to the opponent’s players during the Super Cup match against VfB Stuttgart while heading for celebration after scoring a goal for Bayern Leverkusen. This act was labeled as “unsportsmanlike conduct” and officials investigated the act before placing the match ban and fine.
