Joshua Zirkzee’s First Appearance Goal

Zirkzee was introduced into the match against Fulham yesterday as a substitute for Mason Mount where he got the decisive goal for the match in the 87th minute of the game.

Born on May 21, 2001, in Schiedam, Netherlands, he joined Bayern Munich’s youth academy in 2017 and made his professional debut in 2019 for the club.

He later joined Man United in 2024 for a transfer fee of £ 36.5m. The contract is to last for 5 years with an option to extend for a further year.

Chelsea on the Chase for Joao Felix

Atletico Madrid has set August 21st as the deadline for Joao Felix’s move if they are very much interested in the player. The Portuguese international has been placed on a £50m value by Atletico.

Felix was on loan from the same Atletico club to Chelsea in the 2nd half of the 2022/2023 Season. But he returned since the deal came with a non-option to buy.

His agent Jorge Mendes is still discussing with the Blues as Atletico Madrid is coming up with an option to include Cornor Gallagher as part of the deal for the transfer to click.

PSG’s Win

Goals from Lee Kang-in, Ousmane Dembele, Bradley Barcola, and Randal Kolo Muani saw PSG obtain a confident defeat against Le Havre in the French League 1 opener.

Leicester’s Injury Concern

Leicester Football Club are currently facing injury blows as they look forward to starting a promising English Premier League Campaign.

37-year-old Jamie Verdy is still recovering from a muscle injury and things are not looking too good as a vital player like him will miss starting the EPL season.

Cornor Coady is also having injury as he limped out of the field of play during a preseason training session. Patson Daka in the 37th minute against Lens in an international club friendly came off due to sustaining an injury.

UEFA Super Cup Winners

On Wednesday the 14th of August 2024, Real Madrid displayed a super performance at the UEFA Super Cup Final against Italian football side Atalanta.

Federico Valverde scored the first goal in the 59th minute of the match and the new super signing Kylian Mbappe in the 68th minute doubled the lead for the European Champions.

Vinicious Jr’s electrifying performance saw him dribble past Atalanta’s defender and provide a pass to locate Valverde in the 16-yard box where he simply placed the ball in the back of the net. Jude Bellingham was also a vital contributor as he provided Mbappe with the assist for the second goal.

Real Madrid have now won the Super Cup for the sixth time.

Bayern Munich Trashed Managerial Stint 4-0

All things are looking bright for Vincent Kompany as his men were on fire yesterday trashing SSV Ulm 4 nil in the first round of the DFB-Pokal. Thomas Muller scored twice in 3 minutes, Kingsley Koman got the second goal and in injury time, Harry Kane got the 4th goal for Bayern.

The team is looking forward to having a fantastic season ahead as they have made several signings this summer to have quality players join the team. Bayern Munich now has a more solid team as they welcomed: Michael Olise from Crystal Palace, Joao Palhinha from Fulham, Hiroki lto from VLB Stuttgart, and a loan of Eric Dier from Tottenham Hotspur was made permanent.

Manchester United signed Bayern Munich’s Matthijs De Ligt and Noussair

Manchester United has included two players from German side Bayern Munich. They are Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui.

Matthijs de Ligt, born on August 12, 1999, in Leiderdorp, Netherlands, is a center-back player and has won 2 Eredivisie titles, 1 KNVB cup, and reached 1 UEFA Champions League semifinals during his stay in Ajax.  He later moved to Italy and played for Juventus from 2019-2022 where he won the Italian Serie A title, 1 Supercoppa Italiana, and also reached the UEFA Champions League Finals. In Bayern Munich, before he was transferred to the Red Devils, Matthijs de Ligt won the German Bundesliga.

He moved to United with an initial £38.4m + £3.4m in add-on, summing up to £47.2m total funds.

Another player who was signed together with Matthijs de Ligt from Bayern Munich is Noussair Mazraoui.

Noussair Mazraoui was born on November 14, 1997, in the same Leiderdorp where his colleague Matthijs de Ligt was born. The fullback defender also played for Ajax from 2018-2022, where he won 3 Eredivisie titles, 2 KNVB cups, and reached the UEFA Champions League semifinals. In 2022, he moved to Bayern Munich where he won a Bundesliga title.

He joined Manchester United for a fee of £12.8m with a possible £4.2m add-on.

Chelsea Pushes for Osimhen

It is no longer news that Chelsea Football Club is still eyeing a possible Osimhen’s move from Italian Club Napoli.

Even though the Nigerian international and one-time African Best Player of the Year has been rumored to be wanted by other top European Football Clubs like Manchester United, Arsenal, and Paris Saint-German (PSG), the Blues are still on the chase for the striker.

Several attempts by Chelsea to see the deal come through have not been a success as the Blues are still working out payment terms with Napoli. They wanted to include a player in the deal to lower the £150m price tag placed on Osihmen.

Osihmen has recently said that he is very much interested in joining Chelsea this season.

Arsenal eyes Eberechi Eze

Arsenal could make a late swoop to sign Eberechi Eze as the transfer window continues.

The English international skipper who as of 2024 had made 224 club appearances, 45 goals, 32 assists, and 9 appearances for the 3 Lions of England, may likely move to Arsenal on a £60m deal.

With Arsenal’s interest, they seek to strengthen their attacking line and Eze’s exceptional ability as an attacking midfielder and a left winger will spice up things for the Gunners.
